Our oceanview location is just outside of the downtown core but still central to all of the major meeting spots in Nanaimo and Central Vancouver Island. We're:
- 3 minutes drive or 30 minute walk to the Vancouver Island Conference Centre (VICC)
- 5 minutes drive to Beban Park Auditorium and Social Centre
- 5 minutes drive from Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina University College)
- 5 minutes drive from Nanaimo Aquatic Centre and Nanaimo Ice Centre
- 5 to 10 minutes drive from all hotel meeting facilities (Coast Bastion Inn, Best Western Dorchester, Long Lake Inn and The Grand Hotel)
- 25 minutes away from Parksville's meeting facilities (Tigh-na-Mara, The Beach Club)
- 40 minutes away from the Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn.
 The
Buccaneer Inn is ideally suited for those business
travelers that are budget conscious yet still expect quiet, quality, moderately
priced accommodation. We don't provide all the services that
full service hotels do, but you'll be really comfortable here
and our rates won't hurt you or your
company's pocketbook.
For about the price of a standard downtown hotel room,
you can stay in our deluxe oceanview fireplace
suite. This spacious 1 bedroom apartment with real wood-burning
fireplace (Nanaimo's only!), soaker tub (the bath salts will help
ease the tensions away) and great views of the water makes a nice
break from the norm. One of our corporate guests had this to say about this great suite: "The suite
we stayed in was wonderful, it had a separate bedroom, and full
kitchen. There was a fireplace, real quilts on the beds, and real
furniture, not that stiff uncomfortable hotel stuff you are used

 When
we travel, we like to wake up in a separate bedroom and not have
to look at our laptop. With our two room (one separate bedroom and a living room/kitchen area)
oceanview suites, you get a separate sleeping room where
you'll wake up rejuvenated. Your living room area has a comfortable
sofa to relax on. Our full kitchens let you make a fresh pot
of coffee, or even your favourite breakfast and dinner, and enjoy
your surroundings. When you do need to work, take advantage
of our free high speed wireless internet access!
Won't
be spending much time in your room, we also offer cozy, patio and corner studios! Our studios are
just right for those that are looking an economical room room with a comfortable bed to sleep in!
 As
owners, operators and managers of The Buccaneer, we know
what it's like to spend a lot of time in a hotel. We strive to

and then come 'home to', put your feet up and relax. Our attention

oceanview, semi-waterfront, location is in central Nanaimo and
across from Newcastle Channel, Newcastle Island Provincial Park,
Departure Bay and marinas. We're also the closest accommodation
to the B.C. Ferries terminal at
Departure Bay. In our immediate neighbourhood are 5 restaurants
and pubs.
Downtown
Nanaimo is a beautiful 25 minute walk away. What
a great way to start your day. A refreshingly brisk 3 kilometer
walk downtown and you're ready to do business. Taxi's are plentiful
and take only 3 to 5 minutes to get downtown.
At The Buccaneer Inn,

Bay Bus #2 travels the length of Stewart Avenue. Bus stops are
located, on both sides of Stewart Avenue, 25 metres south of The Buccaneer.
What are you doing after work? At The Buccaneer, we include
complimentary movies on MovieCentral and full cable television to
keep you entertained. There are 5 pubs and restaurants within 3 minutes
walk of your suite. Or you visit our on-line

minutes drive of The Buccaneer. The City of Nanaimo has recently
built a state of the art Aquatic Leisure Centre which features a
wave pool, hot tub, 3 water slides, 52 metre pool, well-equipped
