The
Island's second largest city, Nanaimo is a fun-filled, energetic
city with one of the most beautiful waterfronts in Canada, more
than 2 dozen parks, and a huge assortment of exciting activities.
Nanaimo is the ideal destination for year-round dive and golf getaways,
a romantic weekend or an exhilarating adventure.
Nanaimo
is known as the Harbour City or the Hub City.
Our beautiful
natural harbour lends credence to Nanaimo's claim of having
the most picturesque harbour in Canada. The Harbourside Walkway,
or Seawall Walk, stretches over four kilometres from downtown's'
busy commercial boat basin. The walkway continues past Pioneer
Plaza, Maffeo-Sutton Park, the Yacht Club, The Buccaneer Inn
and terminates near Departure Bay Ferry Terminal.
Our
location on Vancouver Island as a strategic communications, transportation
and distribution hub, makes Nanaimo the perfect welcoming port
to Vancouver Island and a natural central base for your holiday
or business trip. Most major destinations are within day touring
distance of the Hub City!
