rated motel with a Canada Select 3.5 Star Rating rating from Tourism
British Columbia. Tourism British Columbia
repeatedly compliments us on our marvelous renovations and
great housekeeping! And we've received 6 consecutive perfect housekeeping scores from them!
In 2006, AAA approached us and asked that they be allowed to inspect our property for inclusion in their books and website. They approved our property and awarded us a 2 Diamond rating. We are now the only motel in Nanaimo approved by AAA and CAA! AAA re-inspects our property yearly and on one of their recent inspections the inspector commented on our ... "outstanding housekeeping!".
At The Buccaneer Inn, we offer 6 different types of
accommodation designed to suit all tastes and budgets. We have 9 One Bedroom Kitchen Suites, 1 Deluxe Channelview Fireplace Suite, 1 Deluxe Channelview King Suite, 1 Corner Studio, 1 Patio Studio and 1 Cozy Studio.
All our accommodation features soft 320
thread cotton sateen duvet covers with plush goose down duvets (we also
have hypoallergenic duvets, just ask for one!). And our Deluxe Suites also feature cotton velour bathrobes, wine service trays and better amenities!
Our great location away from the downtown entertainment
district and the city's main highways with all night traffic,
ensures that you will get the restful sleep you deserve!

Spoil yourself in our Deluxe Channelview Fireplace Suite. This well-appointed, spacious suite has great oceanview's of Departure Bay and Newcastle Channel, a real wood burning fireplace, full kitchen with all new appliances and table and chairs in front of a picture window offering views of the boats and planes in the channel, is nicely decorated and has a comfy soaker tub with bath salts making this the perfect suite for a weekend getaway, an extended stay or a great place to entertain your clients in! Our Patio Studio is best suited for folks that want a comfortable sleep, don't need the space of a suite but want a bit more room to get out to during the warm and sunny days. The bonus deck really makes this room larger as you can go outside and relax on the uncovered deck with a bit of a view of Newcastle Channel. The deck is available all year however we only put out the patio furniture when the winter rains stop. The maximum occupancy of this room is 2 guests. Please note this studio does not offer wireless internet access (we do have a laptop for use in our office though).

- This room is located at the front of our building and is subject
to some traffic noise during the day time. Generally this is not a problem for most of our guests, however if you are a very light sleeper we would
recommend you stay in one of our suites, especially one of our corner units which are very, very quiet. Or ask for a free pair of ear plugs! At night the traffic on Stewart Avenue lessens considerably. The traffic noise is more prominent during the warmer months when you may have the window open.
